How to choose a torque wrench
Nov 30, 2020
In the choice of torque wrenches in daily life applications, when installing carbon fiber parts and lightweight parts, the degree of tightening and uniformity of screws are particularly important, and the index to measure these two elements is the torque during installation. Within the correct torque range, parts can be clamped while preventing slippage or damage.
In addition, in the machinery industry, the torque of fasteners is often judged by operators based on their work experience, and there is a phenomenon of excessive or small torque, which cannot accurately meet the fastening requirements of fasteners. Therefore, in the machinery industry, torque wrenches are widely used by workers for tightening operations, control or testing.
There are many types of torque wrenches. According to the power source, they can be divided into: electric torque wrenches, hydraulic torque wrenches and manual torque wrenches; manual torque wrenches can be divided into: signal type and direct reading type. In terms of application scenarios, signal torque wrenches are mainly used for torque control in production lines, and direct-reading torque wrenches are mainly used for torque quality testing.
In the selection of the wrench head, the standard ratchet is preferred. The head of the wrench generally has a ratchet, an open head, a plum blossom head, a pipe wrench head, etc. The torque wrench with a head is determined according to the working conditions of the control point and safety factors. The ratchet wrench is preferred because it is a standard part, safe and convenient, and low in cost.
